Leah and Harold Burke have been friends since 1990. I met them a ffew months into my work in the youth office in New Orleans. They've served St. Luke's parish since then and have made quite an imprint there. When they asked me to lead an in-service day for catechists, I was happy to say yes.
I was even more happy to see teens asssiting as catechists for younger grades. I was encouraged to hear catechists open for practical ways to keep the best of Catholic teaching while using creative "delivery methods." Their questions were thoughful and I could feel their desire to do this well. Reminds me of someone else who wanted the local people to "get it." Now who was it? (see answer blow and to the left)
